Learn About Lenape Kiddie Kollege
Lenape Kiddie Kollege is one of the oldest state-licensed nursery schools in the Medford, New Jersey
area, having served thousands of children over the course of its long and rich history. As a privately owned and operated early childhood education center, we believe learning and play go hand in hand. All children ages two through six are welcome to enroll. Five-week summer camps are available now.
Students flourish in an atmosphere that is safe, play-based, and hands-on. Your child learns through play that teaches all skills necessary to enter kindergarten successfully. All of our methods are based on extensively conducted early childhood research, which reiterates our strong belief that "play is the work of the child.".
Our History
Two friends, known affectionately as "the Marys," began Lenape Kiddie Kollege in the recreation room of a Medford Lakes home in September 1960. In 1961, they made plans to build a new facility in Medford. The Marys owned and operated Lenape Kiddie Kollege until their retirement in 1985. In 1985, one of the teachers, Miss Peggy, acquired the school. With her husband John, Miss Peggy operated the school until her retirement in 2004.
In 2004, Miss Theresa, a nine-year teacher in the school, acquired Lenape Kiddie Kollege. Today, Theresa and her husband Tim operate the facility. Their four daughters attended the school, and Miss Theresa affectionately refers to Lenape Kiddie Kollege as her “fifth baby.” Throughout its long and rich history, Lenape Kiddie Kollege has remained true to its roots of providing a developmentally appropriate, traditional nursery school experience for two to six-year-olds
